Whiplash is the most commonly reported injury from motor vehicle accidents, and are on the rise. Today we will review the current literature on rear-end motor vehicle whiplash accidents and the associated disorders and injuries.

A research paper originally presented at an international medical congress in London in 1989. Talks about effective conservative therapy for whiplash injuries. The researchers followed 5 patients who had ligament damage in the cervical spine after whiplash injury. Each patient was treated with medication, immobilization, infiltration of the CO-C1 and C1-C2 facet joints, manual manipulation and upper cervical care. They found that the most effective procedure for whiplash injury patients was what they called “Atlas therapy” aka upper cervical care.
