~ * ~ T H E S O N G ~ * ~

I started writing this song in April, the intro guitar riff was the first thing I came up with. It didn't really develop for the longest time and I really wasn't doing a whole lot of music at the time.

I was working at a supermarket at the time and had a 6 a.m. shift that I didn't get any sleep for. The sleep deprivation led to me coming up with some dumb lyrics and a melody in my head while at work. Got home later, recorded the vocal part in the first verse, then wrote chords and rhythm based on it.

The rhythm was surprisingly kinda complicated, but I think it ended up turning out pretty good. I later improv'd the chorus melody/lyrics over some chords and the bulk of the song was done.

Everything after the second chorus was based on a little piano part I wrote to bridge two sections together. I fleshed it out, copy/pasted it in odd ways and came up with the outro thing. There are no real guitars in the outro, it's all Solemn Tones Loki and Odin II, Logic slap bass, and some synths I made in Alchemy/Serum.

That's about it, but I'll add a little side note. The lyrics are kinda vague and seem like they don't have any meaning. I encourage you to find your own meaning in them, but I'll give a little context. I was terribly unhappy at the time and had no idea why I was even alive. I did a little self hårm and thought about sµiçi∂e constantly. The lyrics of the song describe how I felt at the time, but vague enough that I felt comfortable sharing it.
