DEALING WITH PATIENTS INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS COVERED IN THIS TUTORIAL:
Q. Tell me about a time when you gave quality treatment or care?
INTERVIEW TIP: Within all healthcare and nursing roles, it is imperative that you can provide outstanding treatment and care.

Q. How would you deal with a difficult patient?
INTERVIEW TIP: This interview question is clearly assessing your communication and interpersonal skills. In your response, talk through each of the steps you would follow when dealing with a difficult patient with clarity and confidence.

Q. A patient requires your help, but both you and all other medical staff are busy. What would you do?
INTERVIEW TIP: This is a very difficult question to answer.
It is being asked to assess your ability to remain calm under pressure and to also determine your ability to think logically and to follow operational healthcare rules and procedures.

Q. How can we improve the quality of patient care?
INTERVIEW TIP: Again, this is a difficult interview question to answer. Within your response, talk about the following six things that all healthcare professionals can do to improve patient care and treatment.

Q. A patient you are treating is struggling to understand what you are saying. How would you adapt your style of communication?
INTERVIEW TIP: One of the core values of all healthcare organizations is quality patient care and treatment. This can only be achieved by using effective communication and interpersonal skills and showing empathy when the time is right.

Q. If a patient started to become confrontational or aggressive, what would you do?
INTERVIEW TIP: On occasions, all healthcare workers must deal with confrontational patients. When answering this interview question, use a combination of confidence, interpersonal skills and outstanding communication capabilities to show you can defuse the situation to achieve a positive outcome.

Q. If a patient under your care refuses treatment, what would you do?
INTERVIEW TIP: This is another one of those tricky interview questions that is assessing your technical knowledge and your understanding of healthcare working practices and procedures.
