5 Months Old!

this week was especially hard. the hard parts never get recorded.

we still had all the fun you would expect to have with your first 5 month old baby, but it was also a tough week. Jack started rolling this week and for him that meant, a week of restless nights. the poor boy figured out how to roll off his back and onto his stomach. the only problem was he didn't like being on his stomach. several times, every night for over a week he'd roll on his stomach and immediately start screaming. that meant, a week of restless nights for mom and dad. we'd go in and roll him back over and sometimes that worked, but sometimes he'd roll right back and start screaming again. sometimes we had to rock him for a half hour and then lay him back down, only for him to roll over and start screaming again. it was extremely taxing on the mind. like, why are you rolling if you don't want to roll? make it make sense! this was much like the early months of, if you're tired, GO TO SLEEP! WHO IS STOPPING YOU? ONLY YOU CAN STOP YOU FROM SLEEPING!! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, CHILD!?!?!?! lol

anyway, the internet said in one to two week he'd figure out that it's okay to sleep on his stomach and sure enough, he did.
he's still having the random roll and wake, but for the most part, we're back to five to eight hour sleeps. praise Jesus.
