Did William Afton Die Before or After FNAF 1? - FNAF Theory

When did William Afton die? I mean, he dies in the Follow Me minigames in FNAF 3, that much is obvious, but do the Follow Me minigames take place before or after FNAF 1? While some point to the new Phone Guy interactive novel, The Week Before, having the answers, I don't think it's quite that simple, and while I have mentioned the FNAF 3 phone calls as evidence before, I have not brought up the FNAF 2 phone calls, which thanks to the book, are now relevant to the discussion.
