Sometimes you just need a LINEAR DRUM GROOVE in 11/8

Описание к видео Sometimes you just need a LINEAR DRUM GROOVE in 11/8

In this drum video, we take on a linear drum groove in an 11/8 odd meter. 👉 The kick, snare, hi-hat, and bell of the ride are grouped in a 3+2+3+3 count. Since this is in a #linear drumming style, only one percussion instrument—whether it be a drum or cymbal—is played at a time. Why? Because sometimes you just need a LINEAR DRUM GROOVE in 11/8!
...Music = Math ☜🥁☝︎

ℹ︎ ODD METERS (as in strange ones) contain both simple and compound beats. In other words, the count is broken down into a combination of two(s) and three(s). They are often times referred to as complex or irregular meters, since there is no easy way to divide their sub-beats into equal groupings, resulting in an unsteady pulse.
