In times of ongoing and overlapping crises such as climate change, social division and growing future anxiety, emotional resilience is becoming essential for a more capable and connected tomorrow.This master’s thesis explores how both individual and especially collective future resilience can be supported through emotionally engaging design and shared meaning.
The project brings together methods from futures design with psychological concepts like future resilience and turns them into an experiential and emotional exploration of the next ten years.Assuming that societal crises will continue to occur in various forms such as war, ecological shifts or social disruption, the project asks: How can we prepare ourselves emotionally and collectively for the challenges ahead?

The core of the project is a recurring, collective time capsule event that stores courage, orientation and a sense of connection, and can be accessed again in moments of crisis.Design becomes a tool for building resilience with a view toward the future, creating spaces where emotional strength, shared perspectives and messages can become lasting resources for times to come.
