Dryer lint can be used as kindling to start a fire, according to the National Park Service. It is highly flammable due to its fibrous nature and high surface area, making it easy to ignite.

However, there are some important considerations:

Safety Precautions:
Ventilation: When used as a fire starter, lint produces moderate smoke, so ensure proper ventilation.

Stay Upwind: If using lint from synthetic fabrics, stay upwind to avoid potentially irritating or toxic fumes.

Monitor Carefully: Stay with the fire until all the kindling has been consumed to prevent the possibility of stray sparks igniting an unwanted fire.

Dryer lint is excellent for stuffing dolls, stuffed animals, decorative pillows, and other crafts that won't be regularly laundered.

Not suitable for: Items that will be frequently washed, like clothing or cushions that will be heavily used, as the lint can become compacted and lose its shape when wet according to The Spruce.

Potential drawbacks: Dryer lint can contain traces of detergent, fabric softener, and other substances from laundry processes, says Laundry Care. It is also highly flammable.
