Former North Korean embassy minister Thae Yong-ho defected to South Korea last year and is now a South Korean national. He's regarded as one of the highest ranking North Korean officials to defect in nearly 20 years whose defection has been made known to South Korean media. Before him, the highest ranking official was Hwang Jang-yop, former secretary of the North's Workers Party who defected in 1997. KBS World held an exclusive interview with Thae Yong-ho. Here are some of his thoughts on what he believes is the solution to North Korea's nuclear issue and the way toward Korean unification.
