The IC 427 hijack was one of the most daring mid-air attacks in Indian aviation history.

July, 1993 — Flight IC 427, bound for Srinagar, took off from Delhi carrying 140 innocent passengers. Among them was a man in a wheelchair with both legs in plaster. No one could guess he was hiding two pistols and grenades.

As the plane reached cruising altitude, he stood up, pulled weapons from his fake cast, and hijacked the aircraft — demanding to be flown to Kabul.
