Legend Full Review Transcript:

Legend feels a bit like a vanity project for Tom Hardy because he to be honest is an actor who clearly likes to showboat a bit so it must have been irresistible for him to play the twins Ronnie and Reggie Kray he's the best thing and the worst thing in Legend He's the best thing because his Reggie Kray I was surprised to find was really really good charming and sharp and bouncing full of energy always bouncing on his toes as he woos his future wife Frances played by Emily Browning but of course he's also the worst thing in it because he's Ronnie Kray which is apparently the part that he really wanted to do is full of eye-rolling and ticks and a funny voice and he plays it a a bit like a panto dame it just doesn't really work at all and of course the scenes where the two of them are together well you know they're not really in the room together and they lack that chemistry and that spark that you normally get and sometimes the CGI that puts them in the same room just looks decidedly ropey. The film also focuses on the wrong part of the story it's all about the romance between Reggie and Frances but to be honest you don't really care about that the Krays' story is about violence and crime and about why did they pursue celebrity and that's really barely touched on.
