On Campus Connect, I had the President of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, Comr. Benedict Otu.

Otu massaged in detail, the reasons behind the August 14, 2023 protest by students of the faculty who fingered the erstwhile Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Cyril Ndifon on alleged sexual harassment and other related unlawful practices.

Reacting to what the school management had done so far, Otu clearly stated that reactions from the school management are in the public.

"Reactions from the school management are in the public domain, it's not in my place to come here and educate the public, the University is not acting on proxy" - Otu said.

However, concerning his suspension by congressmen, he clearly stated that such public didn't hold water.

"The kangaroo publication from the unknown congressmen who sat somewhere around Rabana didn't hold water"

He went further; "All students involved, from LLB 1 to Diploma 1, which included a last Students' Union Government leader and some past and present student leaders will be published soon" - he added.

Furthermore, regarding journals students in the faculty paid and didn't get value for their money, Otu aired out that "the management had set up a committee to look into this and we will wait for their report".

Conclusively, he urged all student leaders to "do the right thing and stand for what is right, the world is watching".
