When you joined the NKDO, we promised you interviews with transplant professionals who are impacting the profession and changing things for the better. To celebrate reaching the 1,000th member count, we kicked off our series with a live interview with Garet Hil, the CEO and founder of the National Kidney Registry (NKR), at 4:00 pm EST on Wednesday, February 16.

No organization has transformed living donation and transplantation as has the NKR. They developed and offer Donor Shield, an unmatched suite of donor protections. They also are responsible for the widespread introduction of kidney chains through remote donation and Standard/Family Vouchers. And their Kidney for Life initiative is leading to better matches, fewer graft failures, and reduced immunosuppression. The NKR and the 100 affiliated transplant centers focus on the welfare of living donors and remove disincentives to living kidney donation.
