Riot Edge 13 Kayak

A bit of a look at the Riot Edge 13 kayak, Billed as a low volume day tourer. You could get away with an overnighter with some careful packing. There are two hatches for your gear - covers are easy to get on and off and so far seem watertight. Quite a large cockpit with a good comfy seat. Very stable. Lots of nice features like a place to strap your paddle, a small steel bar on the back deck you can run a bicycle lock through to secure it when camping. Rod holder - that handily fits 32mm PVC pipe for an easy camera or light mount. Turns easily but with the skeg down it can really hold a line when going downwind/crosswind. Everything is really nicely finished - Riot has done an excellent job. Makes for a very relaxing day tourer. Don't think I'll win any sprints with it and it takes a bit of an effort to get it up on the roof of my ute, but that's to be expected with this style of boat. Seems excellent value for money and I'm very pleased with it. Purchased from Melbourne Kayaks in Glen Waverly - a very friendly and helpful bunch.
