Going back to 2014 when we bought our Norseman447, Rocinante in Bocas Del Toro, Panama. We sailed her 3,000 miles home to Maine. We learned a lot about her on that “shakedown” Sail. This is Part 2. this video starts en route to North Carolina. A look at life aboard underway: teethbrushing, standing watch, keeping on course, hand steering, etc. We stopped a few times to collect water samples for a micro-plastic study. We delivered those samples by boat to a scientist in Maine. We saw some big waves in the Gulf Stream. And the weather turned chilly as we got further north in April/May. The boat was brand new to us, and existed in a state that is far different than she is today. We found all the problems, the creaks, the leaks, etc. We swore we would sell the boat as soon as we hit Maine . But here we are 5 years later... and loving the boat more each year. We now run sail training expeditions aboard Rocinante, and shes a sweet boat.
