Laos is an amazing place to visit and a world different from its South East Asia neighbors.

I traveled from the capital Vientiane up to Vang Vieng. Vang Vieng has kayaking and tubing down the river, caves, hot air ballons at sunset, you could easily spend a week there alone.

Next was Luang Prabang, which is historically and religiously significant city in Laos. Wat Phousi is a temple on big hill in the middle of the town and the place to be for sunset. Be up before sunrise to see the monks collect alms for the day.

The Mekong River Slow Boat is another icon of Laos travel. You spend two days going from Pak Beng up the river to Chiang Khong in Thailand. Relaxing and watching the countryside sail by is an experience of a life time for sure.
