BUDGET UKULELE SHOPPING GUIDE

Avoid any ukulele that looks like the first one mentioned. The paint job on this ukulele is so thick that it would overshadow the tone. The worst part about instruments like this is that the action (string height) is too high. When the space between the strings and the fingerboard is too high, the ukulele is uncomfortable to play.

This ukulele is better than the first one. This one holds tune, has a lower string height, and resembles a ukulele tone. This one is not the best one we looked at in the video, but if the ukulele is a child's first instrument, it will serve its purpose.


3. ADM Mahogany Concert Ukulele

This is the only concert sized ukulele we looked at in this video. That is because concert ukuleles tend to be more expensive. This ukulele is definitely pricier than the first two we looked at, but still has a very reasonable price. This ukulele has a mahogany body and neck and a rosewood fingerboard bridge. Italian Aquila Nylgut strings. This was the first ukulele to include a gig bag in the package.

This ukulele is the only ukulele in this video that has a zero fret. The zero fret helps the action remain low without causing a buzz or rattling sound. This ukulele is available in different colors and includes a gig bag. The sound on this instrument is different because it has wooden pieces, so please be aware of that! The sound is bright, and unique.

Out of the entire list, this is the budget ukulele I feel most confident about recommending to you. This ukulele is in a pineapple shape, which gives the ukulele a bigger voice. Out of all of the ukuleles mentioned in this video, this ukulele has the most traditional sound and look.
