Just because the trees have lost their color doesn't mean the rest of the garden has to, too. Here are a handful of fall blooming perennials that you can plant in the spring to enjoy come Fall.

Asters:
Asters can be short or tall. They come in white, pink, lavender and purple. Asters are rich in pollen and attract butterflies and bees.

Alliums:
Alliums are also favorites for the bees. Allium thunbergia 'Ozawa' is one of the latest blooming perennials around. It grows just 12 inches tall and is perfect for rock gardens.


Sedum Autumn Joy:
Sedum Autumn Joy is one the showiest sedums to bloom in the Fall. Autumn Joy starts off pale pink and deepens as the season progresses, becoming coppery brown by November.

Anemone:
Fall-blooming anemones are tough long-lived plants. They can be pink or white and will bloom for a month or more.
