JR East's Hachiko Line is a line that connects Hachioji and Takasaki.
The route's name is a combination of Hachioji's Hachi and Takasaki's ``Kou'', which is another reading of the kanji ``高''.

Construction of this line was planned by the government, and the entire line opened in 1934. The line was planned to be constructed with the focus on development along the railway rather than connecting major cities, but development along the line was delayed, and until recent years the line had a locally colored atmosphere.

In 1996, after the population increased along the line, the line between Hachioji Station and Komagawa Station was electrified, and EMU operation began with direct access to the Kawagoe Line, which connects at Komagawa Station.

On the other hand, diesel cars are still being operated between Komagawa Station, which was not electrified at that time, and Takasaki Station.

This video contains a cab view of the electrified section of the Hachiko Line from Haijima Station to Komagawa Station. Although the number of condominiums has increased along the line, there is still much undeveloped land, and the scenery is reminiscent of autumn in Japan's mountain villages.

Additionally, at the end of the video, we added a scene showing Koma Shrine, which is a 20-minute walk from Komagawa Station, and the route to the shrine.
