Sylvain Bellemare (IC3) - Seeding the next generation of TEEs

Sylvain Bellemare from IC3 discussed the challenges of using trusted hardware in blockchain protocols, highlighting the issue of the root of trust and the potential for node operators to attack their own hardware. He also noted the limitations of current hardware security solutions and the lack of an economic model for securing hardware against physical attacks. Sylvain suggested a stronger synergy between the blockchain community and the hardware research world to develop more secure chips.
