Bentley is a 5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog mix with a calm, gentle presence and a deep love for his people. After losing the person he was devoted to due to an illness, this sweet boy is trying to make sense of a new chapter—and hoping it leads to a forever home.
Bentley is affectionate without being demanding, and happiest when he’s near someone he trusts. He’d do best with older children who understand his size and laid-back nature, and he may enjoy the company of another dog with proper introductions.
A fenced yard would be ideal so Bentley can enjoy quiet outdoor time, stretch his legs, and soak up some fresh air. He’s not looking for a busy or chaotic household—just a peaceful home, steady companionship, and someone willing to build a meaningful bond with him.

Get to Know the VAO
The Voorhees Animal Orphanage (“VAO”) is a Municipal Animal Shelter dedicated to providing shelter, food and medical care to stray and unwanted animals, until permanent homes can be found. We presently serve 29 municipalities in South Jersey. If your cat or dog gets lost in these areas, odds are they will be brought to the VAO. We do not discriminate against any breed, nor do we turn an animal away due to medical conditions or age. Each and every animal in our shelter receives individual consideration and attention, regardless of the number of animals we may have in our care
We are also an Adoption Center. That means when space allows, we are able to rescue cats & dogs from over-crowded, high-kill shelters and rescues. We work with local shelters such as Burlington County Animal Shelter and Philly ACCT. We’ve worked with shelters in Northern NJ have many rescue partners
