Discover the climb to EVEREST and its Base Camps with a scenic flight and at the end a DANGEROUS landing at the famous LUKLA AIRPORT

Base camps are rudimentary camps at the base of Mount Everest used by climbers during their ascent and descent. They are also visited by hikers. South Base Camp is used when climbing the southeast ridge, while North Base Camp is used when climbing the northeast ridge.
Supplies are sent to South Base Camp by porters and with the help of animals, usually yaks. Access to North Base Camp is via a paved road that branches off China National Highway 318. Climbers typically rest at base camp for several days to acclimatize, to reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

From Lukla, climbers ascend to the Sherpa capital, Namche Bazaar, 3,440 meters (11,290 feet), following the Dudh Kosi river valley. It takes about two days to reach the village, which is the center of the region. Typically at this point, climbers allow a rest day for acclimatization. They then walked for two more days to Dingboche, 4,260 meters (13,980 feet), before resting for another day for further acclimatization. Most trekkers use the traditional trail through Tengboche monastery, but recently, the high trail via Mong La and Phortse has gained popularity due to the impressive views it offers. Another two days take them to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep, the flat field below Kala Patthar, 5,545 meters (18,192 feet) and Mount Pumori. Finally, they continue to the top on one of the most risky climbs in the world.
