Heroes of Might and Magic All Videos (1995, New World Computing)

This is it, the game that started the Heroes series so beloved by so many.

This first installment took many visual cues from the Xeen series before it. Giving us things like fat purple dragons, carpet riding genies and hamburglar rogues. Also the majority of hero portraits are based on the hero and NPC portraits from the Xeen series.

The game itself contains very little FMV compared to the next few installments, but that is all well and good because what New World Computing DID concentrate on was the gameplay. They had some early experimentation but the core gameplay was hammered out very well in this game. While there has been some deviation, the most popular games of the series don't stray drastically far from where it all began.
