1.
I worship Virabhadra, who is skillful in destroying Daksha’s sacrifice,
Whose mighty arms are like thundering clubs,
Whose shining third eye burns enemies to ashes.

2.
I worship Virabhadra with his skeletal staff, fierce fangs, and garland of skulls,
Wearing serpents as ornaments and sacred ash all over his body,
He destroys the pride of even Kamadeva.

3.
I worship the Lord of spirits, charming with serpents,
Whose mere gaze burned powerful cities,
Whose lotus eyes remain ever half-closed in cosmic calm.

4.
I worship the dark-hued, soft-limbed Virabhadra,
Who holds the poison of time in his throat,
Whose head is kissed by the Ganga,
And whose third eye burns like fire.

5.
I worship him served by sharp weapons,
Who appears dark as collyrium,
Who destroyed countless enemies,
Who resides under a banyan tree wearing a Rudraksha garland.

6.
I worship the bravest among all, Lord of the Universe,
Adorned with a crescent moon and serpent crown,
Worshiped even by sages like Sanaka,
And delighting in the divine discus.

7.
I worship him whose sweet anklets ring harmoniously,
Who wears forest flowers and the best of gems,
Whose eyes bloom like lotuses at sunrise.

8.
I worship Virabhadra — time's destroyer,
Holder of the golden bow,
Lord of heroes, untouched by desires,
The lone, desireless seeker — the path to liberation itself.

9.
He who recites this sacred Virabhadra Ashtakam at dawn,
Even in times of misfortune or grief,
Will gain happiness, wealth, beauty, stability, and purity.
