Usable wood beer mug

Описание к видео Usable wood beer mug

A friend game me the idea to make a beer mug. In this video, you can see how I made it. Also note that in the video I said to cut the sticks at 20 degree angles, that is incorrect. The correct angle is 12 degrees. I had fun making it and learned a bit along the way. I used two part epoxy on the inside to water proof it and exterior wood finish on the outside. After a good month to cure and set up, it should be good to drink out of.

I used 1/2 in thick craft board from Lowes and cut the side pieces at 3/4 on the (shorter) inside.

Thank you to Brian Miller for pointing out my mistake in the video where I said 20 degrees. I should have said 12 degrees. I did cut the pieces at 12 degrees but said it wrong in the video.

In this mug I did not use finishes or epoxy that were specifically listed as food safe. I did my own research into food safe finishes which led me to believe that all finish is food safe so long as it is given proper time to dry and cure. Below are a couple of the websites that I found information on.

Here is a webpage of someone who makes wood mugs and he has lots of information about his process. I got ideas from there.
