Matt Ridley, the Viscount Ridley, is a science writer, journalist, and businessman. His books, inluding The Red Queen, Genome, The Rational Optimist and The Evolution of Everything, have sold over a million copies and won several awards. He served in the Lord between 2013 and 2021 and is the founding charmian of the International Centre for Life in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
