该舞剧从汉时与匈奴在边塞累有战事开始，讲述昭君完成和亲宁边使命、促成民族和睦的传奇故事。个人情感与家国情怀交织而叙，该舞剧刻画了昭君在与匈奴王和亲过程中的无奈与苦楚、大义与勇气等种种情感，传递了“天下和合”的理念。
