ABORTED SpaceX Starship Starhopper hover test at T-0; big methane flare!

At about 7:35 PM local time they lit the Raptor engine, but the hover test was automatically aborted (for reasons unspecified) and Starhopper never left the ground. Immediately after the Raptor engine was shut off, there was a large flame of combusting methane gas that was venting from Starhopper.
This July 24 test had been postponed from July 17 because the previous night's static fire test was followed by an unexpected methane fireball when they attempted to douse a flame with a water hose.

SpaceX attempted to use their latest Raptor engine to hover an untethered Starhopper 20 meters above the ground, and set it back down.
Starhopper is the prototype test vehicle precursor to Starship (formerly BFS). Eventually Starship will be launched by the Super Heavy rocket (formerly BFR).
