Johnny Cash is starting to come together. We got the windshield installed, some custom door handles made, and a killer vintage 1960s mooneyes steering wheel swapped in. This two-piece split windshield for the 1940 Chevy truck cab is kind of a pain but totally worth it! Looks killer and the fit can be adjusted or some more weather stripping added to seal it better. The door handles were just something I came up with because the suicide doors were hard to open with the new latch mechanism. I think the handles turned out good for free fifty. Lastly this killer vintage moon eyes steering wheel. I found this thing and picked it up for $20 bucks, I didn't even realize it was MOON Eyes until I started cleaning it up. Looks fantastic in the truck and I just happened to have a Speedway Motors GM column to 3 bolt wheels adapter on the shelf.

Well, yall just what we needed... another project. But this one was a good deal I promise. Just like the last one was. I actually bought this truck from a really good friend of mine. He bought it from another fella, who bought it from the folks that were building it and from what I can tell it's been sitting outside since then. I had to go to Childersburg, Alabama to pick the truck and parts up. Gonna try and get it running and driving and figure out more about the truck.

The paperwork on the truck is from Indiana and calls it a 1940 Chevy truck. I believe the grill and fenders are a 1940 to maybe a 1947 Dodge truck. The chassis is a 1993 Dodge D350 5.9 liter 12 valve cummins. Its an automatic and its 2wd dually. Someone suicided the doors on the cab, its got a tilt steering column and a B&M ratchet shifter.
