If you want a well-rounded machine outside a skid steer. Get the old school Cat 963 track loaders. They will make you money and can do fairly big jobs by themselves. They are also a legal haul on the back of an RGN trailer.

The weight is around 43k and are below the 13'6" height requirements if on an RGN lowboy.
The bucket capacity is roughly 2.5 yards struck and 3 heaped. Some people prefer excavators vs track loaders and some prefer track loaders. A track loader will do everything an excavator will do plus more, an excavator will do most of what a track loader will do but outperforms the track loader hands down when it comes to digging a hole or when used with a thumb.

This one has the 3304 7.0 liter 4 cylinder which are 20k hour engines. The transmission is a hydrostatic 360-degree turn radius HPCU unit. Service life is 20k as well but of course, that's if you know what your doing plus proper maintenance.
