Vadhya Milan - Veena, Sarod & Mridangam | Veena Venkatramani | Smit Tewari | Manohar Balatchandirane

Vadhya Milan is a project curated by Veena Venkatramani, a veena artiste.

The project, which is one-of-a-kind, aims to explore the collaboration possibilities between the carnatic instrument - Veena - and other instruments, across the 10 days of Navarathri. Through this project, Veena has brought together 15 other artistes from across India, and a total of 12 musical instruments, comprising both Carnatic and Hindustani instruments.

Today's video, on Day 4 of Navarathri, brings together the Veena and the Sarod. The Kriti chosen is composed by Maharaja Swati Tirunal, and tuned by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty - another unique confluence of Carnatic and Hindustani.

Jai Jai Devi - Hamsadhwani - Elam - composed by Maharaja Swati Tirunal, and tuned by Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. The composition is followed by a series of kalpana swarms in a raagmala - where each raag chosen bears a name of the Devi.
