FISH CAMP 2021!!! day-by-day experience vlog | texas a&m university session A camp slaughter

this year, i went to fish camp at texas a&m! fish camp is typically “an aggie’s first tradition” at a&m, and it’s a huge thing—there are 8 sessions with nearly 1000 people at each session! i went to session A, the first session of fish camp. if you’re confused about the “camps,” don’t worry—i was too. basically, at each session, we are split up into “camps” by randomly assorted colors. for example, i was in camp yellow, aka camp slaughter. it was called camp slaughter because mr. jd slaughter, a texas a&m grad, was the namesake for our camp. another example would be camp swerc, which was the blue camp (i think). then, within our camps, we’re split up randomly into even smaller groups called discussion groups (DGs) with about 15 people in each, whom we spend a lot of time with over the 3 days. i really enjoyed fish camp, but as you’ll see in the video, it’s only worth going if you fully participate in it. be enthusiastic and try to be in the front or center of the crowd! you’ll get the most out of it by participating.
