COMET Project - machining hard steel using PowerMILL Robot & Yaskawa Motoman robot

Описание к видео COMET Project - machining hard steel using PowerMILL Robot & Yaskawa Motoman robot

Delcam were a partner within the COMET project (www.cometproject.eu) where a Robot CNC machining cell was developed using a Yaskawa Motoman ES165D. The robot is equipped with spindle, automatic tool changer, lubrication and is completelly programmed using Delcam's PowerMILL Robot. The material shown in the video is steel but the cell can be used for machining a variety of materials, like marble, stone etc. If additional axis are added the robot can machine very large parts and be introduced into new fields of application.

Key benefits:
The robot provides ultimate 3D flexibility that a 5 axes machining centre cannot deliver.

Ideal for rapid prototyping.

Off-line programming eliminates hands-on robot programming thus allowing the robot to be used for production.

The robot can be used for additional tasks such as handling the machined part in and out of the cell reducing manual labour.
