Acne keloidalis nuchae (AKN) is a chronic inflammatory ailment that leads to scarring of the hair follicles, development of #keloids or #papules and even alopecia (hair loss). It is commonly located at the base of the neck and the back of the head on the scalp.
At Kaado MD, we offer a variety of treatments for mild AKN and AKN that has advanced to keloid and papule formations. In this particular video, local anesthetic is injected into the skin before Dr Kaado started electrocauterizingthe AKN. Several treatments are required to get rid of the AKN.
