The game was developed by World’s Edge, Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media, CaptureAge, and Virtuos Games, and published by Xbox Game Studios on the 4th of September, 2024.

Age of Mythology is a real-time strategy video game and a spin-off from the Age of Empires series, with gameplay focused on defeating enemy mythological units and towns, expanding the player’s territory, and tribe management and development. The game stands out from the strategy crowd with its theme coming from mythologies and legends rather than from actual historical events, with Greek, Egyptian, and Norse traditions being the main inspirations behind the game.
