Trekking in the snowy Himalayas is on most trekkers' bucket lists. So here, we have put together a calendar of when you can go on snow treks in the Himalayas and which are the best treks in those particular months.

You can either choose to walk in snow or you may want to experience a snowfall. The latter is more rare, but if you time your trek right, then you could experience a snowfall too! Watch the video to learn which are the best snow treks in the Himalayas.

Winter is NOT a short season. It lasts all the way from around mid-December to the end of March. Most trekkers believe that winter lasts from December to January. That’s not true. In fact, winter is longer than summer in the Himalayas. You’ll see snow almost throughout December, Jan, Feb and March on treks that climb up to 12,000 ft.

Target January, February and March for maximum snow, least crowd. Every year, I see massive crowds throng to the mountains in December for the winter experience (especially the last 15 days of December). What was a lot of people has now become an impossible crowd. So if you don’t have a holiday leave constraint, choose January, February and March to trek.
