Transplant coordinator Abby Lantz walks you through the reasons for, and frequency of, biopsies post liver transplant. Because there isn’t a set frequency for biopsies post liver transplant, biopsies are only performed if lab results show one is necessary. We’ll perform a biopsy if any of your numbers are elevated, you have extra fluid in your abdomen, or bleeding problems that show your liver isn’t functioning as well as should be.
