Random Jam #39 [lo-fi neo soul w/ Jazz Bass, Digitakt, ZOIA & Microcosm]

As usual the Digitakt is the brain of the setup, it provides the drums and the riser effect. I also use the built-in MIDI sequencer to control the Octatrack at 2:05. The piano sound is coming from the Octatrack but I record the MIDI notes into the Digitakt because I like the sequencer better (the quantization is more flexible, among some other things). The piano also goes through the Microcosm for some granular stuff. Finally the Aeros Loop Studio is looping both the guitar and the bass.

Every element was recorded onto a separate track and I mixed the whole thing inside Logic Pro X. I added some reverb/delay and I mastered the result with Izotope Ozone 9. I also did some minor timing edits.


I'm so stoked about having a bass, I need to work on my chops but I think it really brings something cool and new to the jams. Anyway hope you enjoyed this one, I love you all,
