In today's video I will demonstrate the steps I take to turn freshly cut logs sections into bowl blanks ready to turn on the late. I'll be using my shop-made circle cutting jig, although these jigs are commercially available I'd suggest that you make your own. There really pretty simple jigs to make and I'm guessing you'll find them useful for other projects besides preparing rough wood to be turned.

A note about PPE (personal protection equipment): In this video I decided not to use a face shield I would normally use with the chainsaw. It was very humid that day and my safety glasses were fogging up inside the face shield. (The glasses have reader magnification so I can't go without them). Use your own judgment on which forms of PPE you decide to or not to use.

How do you think the bowl blanks “turned” out?
