This is the first ever sarode of this kind to be built by master Sarode maker "Naba Kumar Kanji" based on my own original design & unique specs. It is the first 10 peg sarode he has built or that currently exists! 15 sympathetic strings, 2 chikari (drone) strings), 5 main playing strings (extra low "pa" string) and 5 javari (colour) strings (extra "dha" string). This video is my first attempt at playing it. Instrument is still settling, I'm only just getting to know it. Special thanks to my dear friend & wonderful Sarode player, Arnab Chakrabarty, without whom this couldn't have been possible.
