2025 Ford Police Explorer Interceptor Utility Responder Revealed

Ford Pro has announced that the new 2025 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, featuring the popular hybrid powertrain option, is now being shipped to police agencies nationwide, extending the legacy of America's best-selling lineup of police vehicles.

As the country's top-selling police vehicle, the Ford Police Interceptor Utility continues to set the standard for pursuit-rated law enforcement vehicles with a standard hybrid powertrain option. This hybrid system powers onboard equipment even when the gasoline engine is off, potentially saving up to 838 gallons of fuel annually. This translates to projected cost reductions of approximately $17,500 over a six-year ownership term, assuming gasoline costs $3.50 per gallon.

Police departments can select from three powertrain options to meet their community's needs and budget: a 3.3-liter direct-injected V6 with hybrid system (all-wheel drive) producing 318 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque, a 3.3-liter V6 gasoline engine (all-wheel drive) with 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine (all-wheel drive) generating 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.
