Students, staff and families at Kendrick Elementary School on Tuesday morning took a group bicycle ride to Pecan Bottoms at Cameron Park for a day of outdoor fun, including time at the splash pad and playground, in celebration of National Bike Month. The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Waco Police Department’s UNIDOS program and Waco Family Medicine were involved in planning the end-of-school-year “bike bus” event, which included donations and loans of bicycles and helmets from Waco Warriors and GTG Outdoors to help students participate.
