Krista Carvin, BA/BSW, MSW, RSW at TEDxMcMasterU 2023. Early pandemic, Krista Carvin, a Registered Social Worker, practiced in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and as a Psychotherapist… at the same time. A pattern emerged in the stories she heard and she was moved to follow her curiosity. Krista's life story was forever changed by a diagnosis, a movement, and the courage to love her brain. Video production and editing by NSHAPS Productions. Krista Carvin (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker in Ontario, Canada. She is the Founder of The Curious Collective, a virtual psychotherapy practice.

Krista is deeply curious by nature. Her curiosity led her to a diagnosis of Adult ADHD, the Neurodiversity Movement, and later a therapy specialization. As a human first and as a therapist second, she learned that between the hard work, humour, and heartache of learning you have ADHD, there is an opportunity for joy and justice.

Krista values neurodiversity, or the diversity of human minds. She believes all brains and bodies are valuable and worthy of authenticity. Her therapy, education, and activism work is focused on helping neurodivergent people feeling safe, well, and accepted. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
