Welcome to Hope Haven Heroes, your trusted resource for specialized services for children and families. Our story began in 1926 at the height of the tuberculosis epidemic. With a mission to serve malnourished and tuberculosis-infected children, we started with just three patients and soon expanded beyond our original facility on the Trout River. In 1940, we moved to a prominent, white brick hospital on Atlantic Boulevard, a community landmark.

As tuberculosis came under control, we adapted to new health challenges, focusing on treating children with polio during the mid-1900s. By the 1960s, we had treated over 20,000 patients. As the needs of our community evolved, so did we. In 1980, we transitioned to providing outpatient services and, in 1990, moved to our current purpose-built facility on Beach Boulevard.

Today, Hope Haven is a leading nonprofit provider of educational, developmental, and mental health services, serving over 3,800 families each year. Our commitment to care, innovation, and community continues to guide us as we support children and families in need.
