Sketches #105 - Immersive 20 min Generative Ambient Eurorack Experience [ Mutable Marbles | Rings ]

This patch started out with a leftover voice/s from a previous patch. I tweaked it slightly to simplify, removing unnecessary modulation. My intention was to create a generative patch with just two voices. One with long pad-like notes, the other short and plucky. I used two Mutable Instruments Rings modules to achieve this. There are two separate sequences of pitches that are generated by Mutable Instruments Marbles and then patched to each rings. Marbles will usually generate random pitches which can be quantised to a scale, but in this instance I locked the sequences so they would loop over time rather than continue to generate randomly. However, marbles also generates random triggers which I did not lock. I also modulated the rate and jitter controls on marbles to add further variety to rhythm and fluctuate tempo produced. In this way the patch doesn't sound too repetitive even though it is just the same pitches cycling.
