story of yourself (sonic) was like the normal sonic until one day eggman managed to create a machine so strong that not even sonic alone could with it, so with his friends they managed to defeat him but that led to a consequence which is that sonic was left completely alone because his friends died defeating the machine, so with the little that was left of his friends he managed to encase their souls in his shoes so that they would be with him forever
