Описание к видео Lorenzo Quintavalle (Laval university) : The Casimir and Completeness Relation for 2d-CFTs

The Virasoro algebra has been for decades a central topic in the context of string theory and two-dimensional conformal field theory. It is thus perhaps surprising that for this long, foundational concepts such as the resolution of the identity and a Casimir operator had not been determined. In this talk, we will discuss our recent progress in this direction: by studying the inverse Shapovalov form (a.k.a. the inverse Gram matrix), we have successfully derived expressions for both the resolution of the identity and Casimir operators in terms of the null vectors of the algebra. We will conclude discussing interesting applications of our results, including a new expression for Virasoro conformal blocks in terms of singular vector data.
