Meet Ngọc Huyền, a remarkable 21-year-old young lady with a Tessier Type 4 facial cleft, a condition that has left a deep mark on her life. She’s undergone five previous surgeries with other mission teams, leaving her with severe scarring. Today, we began her scar revisions, smoothing away some of the physical remnants of those earlier attempts. But her journey is far from over. We’ve already scheduled her next surgery to address the lower eyelids next year. Despite her facial deformities, Ngọc Huyền is relentlessly determined to break the cycle of poverty that surrounds her. She is in college, self-reliant, and pursuing a career in education. She believes that BaSF scholarship in 2024 will help her become more accepted by her future students, and we’re here to help her achieve that goal.
