This combined with the carbon fiber shaft gives it a totally different sound and character which is always desirable when trying to expand your variety of sounds for glockenspiel. Try them on xylophone as well for soft passages. Also versatile enough for woodblocks and crotales. All of my short carbon fiber mallets are invaluable to players taking auditions that run up against low grade glockenspiels with thin/light bars. These are the mallets to use in those situations!
