To promote exports from India, the Government gives many benefits to exporters. Some of the key benefits include:

💡 What is RODTEP?

RODTEP stands for Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products.
It is a government scheme that gives exporters a refund of hidden taxes and duties that were already paid while making the goods. These taxes are not refunded under any other scheme.

🟢 The government gives RODTEP benefits in percentage (%), like 0.5% to 5%, depending on your product.
You can check your product’s RODTEP rate on the ICEGATE government website.

💰 How Exporters Get RODTEP?

When you export goods, the RODTEP amount is given to you in the form of a Duty Credit Script on the ICEGATE portal.

✅ You can use this script to pay import duty, if you are importing goods.
✅ If you don’t import anything, you can sell this script to another importer and get money for it.

Usually, exporters sell RODTEP scripts to importers at a 4% to 5% discount.

📦 Example:

I export Handicraft Furniture, Copper Products, and Garments.
For every export, I receive RODTEP scripts on the ICEGATE portal.
Since I’m not importing anything, I sell these scripts to importers and get money in return.
